Training Options
The Targeting Transition program offers a variety of options for implementing the program, including:
- Option One: Complete training by Ten Sigma staff
- Option Two: Initial training by Ten Sigma staff, completed by local trainer(s)
- Option Three: Local trainers trained, entire training managed by local trainers
- Option Four: District purchases trainer’s manual and train staff without Ten Sigma intervention
Option One: Complete Training by Ten Sigma Staff
Recommended for districts that want to maximize consistency and secure professional training for their staff.
- One day of initial training on the basics of the program, held in a classroom setting. When finished, participants will possess the materials and training they need to implement the Targeting Transition program.
- One-half to one day of advanced training, held in a computer lab (6-10 weeks after the initial training). When finished, participants will have a deeper understanding of the program and have hands-on experience in using the RubricMaker to edit and design rubrics and in using the online access to transition activities.
- Trainer’s manual will be used for future training to review procedures and train new staff in the use of the program.
Cost:
- $195 per participant for material
- $300 for trainer’s manual (optional)
- $1,600 honorarium (two days of training)
- Actual expenses for two trips and two days of travel
Option Two: Initial Training by Ten Sigma Staff, Completed by Local Trainer(s)
Recommended for districts that want to maximize consistency and secure professional training for their staff.
- One day of initial training on the basics of the program, held in a classroom setting. When finished, participants will possess the materials and training they need to implement the Targeting Transition program.
- One-half to one day of training for local trainers in how to use the material and how to plan and carry out local training (optional).
- Local trainer(s) use the trainer’s manual to (1) review program components, (2) conduct training in the use of the RubricMaker and online transition activities, and (3) train new staff in the use of the program.

- $195 per participant for material
- $300 for trainer’s manual
- $800 honorarium (one day of staff training)
- $800 honorarium (optional: one-half to one day of local trainer training)
- Actual expenses for one trip and two days of travel
Option Three: Local Trainers Trained, Entire Training Managed by Local Trainers
One day of training with selected local trainer(s) in how to use the Trainer’s Manual and Targeting Transition material to train the local staff.
Cost:
- $195 per participant for material
- $300 per trainer’s manual (recommended one manual per building)
- $800 honorarium (one day of training)
- Actual expenses for one trip and one day of travel
Option Four: District Purchases Trainer’s Manual and Train Staff without Ten Sigma Intervention
Purchase one or several trainer’s manuals, then plan and carry out training using local leadership.
