Turning Rubrics into Measurable Annual IEP Goals
Well-designed rubrics can provide special education teachers with specific information to assist in writing measurable annual goals and objectives and collecting data for those goals.
Sample goals and objectives taken from the wording of rubrics:
- Being Organized (higher-functioning level rubric)
- Following Directions Promptly (moderate level rubric)
- Following Verbal Directions (autism spectrum level rubric)
- Keeping and Following a Schedule (severe level rubric)
